OUR Travel Award Program

PURPOSE

OUR Travel Awards are intended to foster research between faculty and UWF’s most promising undergraduate students and to support undergraduates presenting at professional conferences.

ELIGIBILITY

Applicants must be undergraduate students who are currently enrolled and in good standing. Applicants from all disciplines are encouraged to apply.

SUBMISSION DEADLINE

Travel award applications must be submitted at least 45 days before the date of travel.

OUR Works Federal Work Study Research Assistantships

PURPOSE

Engage in meaningful scholarship related to your career interests all while earning a paycheck. OUR Works will pay you to explore your major.

ELIGIBILITY

Applicants must be undergraduate students who are currently enrolled and in good standing. Applicants from all disciplines are encouraged to apply.

SUBMISSION DEADLINE

To access the application, follow the link below. Applications for the OUR Works 2016-2017 program are rolling, but applications received by 5PM on May 13, 2016 will have priority.

OUR Scholars Program

PURPOSE

The OUR Scholars Program aims to enhance students’ professional development and improve their communication skills. Scholars will gain the confidence needed to communicate to others about their research effectively, receive individual support and create a sense of community with the Scholars’ cohort.

A subset of OUR Project Award recipients will be selected to participate in the OUR Scholars program, which allows students to request an additional $100 to support their research projects (for a total project award maximum request of $750 for individual projects or $1,100 for group projects).

ELIGIBILITY

Applicants must be undergraduate students who are currently enrolled and in good standing. Must have received an OUR Project Award. Applicants from all disciplines are encouraged to apply.

To apply for the OUR Scholars program, students must indicate their preference on the OUR Project Award Application.

 

OUR Explorers Program

PURPOSE

The OUR Explorers Program is intended to spark novice undergraduate students’ interest in research and creative activities. Explorers will attend professional development workshops, receive individual support and shadow various faculty members through their research endeavors.

ELIGIBILITY

Applicants must be undergraduate students who are currently enrolled and in good standing. Cannot have previous independent research experience (i.e. research that is not part of a course). Preference will be given to freshman and sophomore students. Applicants from all disciplines are encouraged to apply.
